Not so long ago my daughter Penny and her husband Martin packed their bags and moved five hundred miles north to Scotland. I’ve visited several times in and around their new home in the Trossachs National Park near Loch Lomond and not too far from Glencoe. I never fail to be amazed by the beautiful landscape that unfolds before me. I’ve taken many hundreds of photos, and after spending many hours sorting through them, I have chosen those I feel best to represent my experience – so far!

I may never get there, but at least I can see how beautiful it truly is through your eyes/heart. Thank you very much. It’s amazing. One question though was that a castle you took a pic of??? I hope one day (it’s on my bucket list) to actually physically see a castle. My grandparents on my paternal side… grand dad was born in London, England (maiden name is Chamberlin), and my grandmother was born in Dusseldorf, Germany). On my mom’s side my grandparents were born in Sicily. Thank you again for sharing. I’m off to another country. What a wonderful way to spend Easter. I’m disabled so we don’t get around a lot.

I live at the opposite end of the UK, 500 miles from where my daughter lives but it’s only a day’s drive away. I had never been to Scotland before she moved there a few years ago. The castle is at Stirling and it’s considered the most important in Scotland. Where I live I am surrounded by castles. The closest, 6 miles away, is at Pevensey. It was built by the Romans in 250 AD then adopted by William the Conqueror when his fleet landed there during the Norman invasion in 1066. The original walls are still in fine condition. I’m thrilled you are enjoying my journals.

Oh my gosh- these are stellar photos! We love Scotland and have visited there three times- we have friends who have a croft not far from Inverness…lovely place. And we always make time to stay in Edinburgh for a bit. Thanks for the tour! Now back to A-Z!
